The first choice for
strategy and fundraising
The Association for Project Management is a professional membership organisation for project managers with approximately 20,000 individual and 700 corporate members. It works in the UK and internationally and is a registered charity.
In 2014, the trustees asked us to conduct a study into the feasibility of launching an appeal to fund a range of potential projects. They needed to know whether their membership would support this, as well as what sort of projects they would donate to and how much could realistically be raised.
The assignment was delivered by a small team, comprising our Director, Simon George, supported by Michael Beasley, our corporate specialist, and Nick Booker, a marketer with extensive research experience.
As part of the assignment, we ran two focus groups with APM members, designed and ran an online membership survey and carried out a telephone research study with a sample of corporate members. We also drafted and tested a case for support.
The study was produced on time and to budget and provided two options for the APM trustees to consider. APM expressed its satisfaction with the study and will be using the findings to inform its decision making and planning of its future fundraising.
