Project Evaluation Service

Funders such as charitable trusts, lottery boards and statutory organisations are accountable to their stakeholders and need to know that their money is being used well.

Charities and other not-for-profit organisations therefore need to know how to demonstrate the impact of their work.

In particular, when assessing a major application for funding (especially for existing work) funders may require an independent evaluation of the project or service before committing to support it. For example, the Big Lottery Fund now requires evaluations for all Reaching Communities bids that cover existing work.

We have experience in conducting project evaluations for clients, especially those seeking funding from the Big Lottery Fund. Such evaluations can be used to support major applications and help to secure continuation or development funding for projects. The evaluation report provides evidence of the impact of your project and is a valuable tool for fundraising. It can therefore be a good investment, as well as helping the organisation to measure its own impact.

Linked to evaluation are the issues of needs assessment and social research, which are also part of the project planning life-cycle and seek to ensure that projects deliver what their stakeholders need. There is further information about this here
